Renewal Date: 7/31 biennially on odd numbered years
Reporting Period: 7/1 to 6/30 biennially ending on odd numbered years
Required Hours: 80 with a minimum of 40 hours per year.
Ethics Required: 4 hours, with a minimum of 2 per year
1 hour of Michigan Statutes and Administrative Rules applicable to Public Accountancy. Currently, the only provider approved to offer this 1 hour course is the Michigan Society of CPAs.
Subject Breakdown: A minimum of 8 hours is required in Accounting and Auditing per year.
Credit Limits: The maximum credit for instructors and self study is 50% of total hours per year. 40 hours maximum earned in excess of the 40 hour per year requirement may be carried forward into the following year. 8 hours maximum of accounting and auditing may be carried forward into the following year. 2 hours maximum of ethics per year can be carried into the following year.
Other State Policies: Michigan accepts CPE credits from programs offered by National Registry Sponsors.
